Ingredients for Original Old Bay Crab Cakes:
2 crustless pieces of dry bread
1 tablespoon of milk
mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon flakes of parsley
1 tablespoon powdered baking soda
1 teaspoon seasoning (Old Bay)
salt (1/4 teaspoon)
1 beaten egg
vegetable oil 1 pound lump crabmeat
Directions:
Step 1: Break the bread into small pieces in a large mixing dish. Milk should be used to moisten.
Step 2: Combine the mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, baking powder, Old Bay, salt, and crabmeat in a mixing bowl.
Step 3: Combine lightly and form 4 patties.
Step 4: Refrigerate patties for 30 minutes before cooking to help them stay shaped.
Step 5: Pour around 1/4 inch of vegetable oil into your frying pan. Fry until golden brown on both sides over medium-high heat. To avoid overfrying, I usually turn every minute.
